Argos today announced it will be collaborating for the first time on a celebrity clothing range.
The catalogue firm has enlisted the help of Spice Girl and mother-of-two Emma Bunton to design a 99-piece collection of baby and childrenswear, to be modelled in part by her four-year-old son, Beau Lee Jones.
Early images of the collection reveal that the line will practical but fun, with rock ‘n roll-inspired prints of guitars and skulls for boys, and bright, bold designs for girls.

Elsewhere, there will be plenty of staples – cotton T-shirts, trendy jeans – with relaxed knitwear in the form of comfy cardigans and jumpers.
The collaboration, which will land in store and online in January 2012, is the first of its kind for both Argos and Emma.
The store says Emma has been working closely with the Argos team since March on the 99-piece collection, which will cater for girls and boys aged from newborn to 10 years old.
And Emma, who gave birth to baby Tate Lee Jones in May this year, says she was delighted to be asked to design the range.
Emma says, ‘As a Mum myself I’m forever searching for fun and fashionable clothes for my boys, that are comfortable and practical too – clothes they really want to wear.

‘Working with Argos has given me the opportunity to create exactly that.
‘I’ve worked hard on every piece in the range; the designs, colours, fabrics, prints and cuts and I’m so proud of the outcome.’
‘As a child I modelled for Argos and featured in the catalogue several times so it’s great to make a return appearance, this time with my own range, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do.’
Emily Jacobs, Business Development Manager at Argos says, ‘Emma is known and loved for being a stylish, hard working mum so was a natural choice to design this kids collection with us.
‘We are confident that our customers will love the high quality and detail at our great value prices.’
Emma’s collection will go instore and online as part of a new foray into clothing for Argos, much of which will be licensed character childrenswear.
Emily Jacobs adds: ‘Emma’s collection will take Argos childrenswear to a new level with a fully comprehensive and credible range, putting Argos on the childrenswear map as a clothing destination.’
Emma Bunton, pictured left, ahead of birth of baby Tate, and right, with boyfriend Jade Jones, says she was frustrated at the lack of cool baby clothes so is delighted to be able to design her own
Emma has history with Argos, having appeared as a little girl in a 1980 Argos catalogue advert for Slumberdown duvets
The range will be available from January in store and online at www.argos.co.uk.
